Samsung Galaxy S6 Active Pro Reviews

TechSpot‘s review Edit

Depending on what you want from your smartphone, the Galaxy S6 Active is a fantastic choice, especially for those that love smartphone cases and want superb battery life. My personal preference is still the Galaxy S6 for its sleek design, but the Galaxy S6 Active is just as good of a choice, especially if you can grab one for the same price as the regular Galaxy S6. Unfortunately, the Galaxy S6 Active hasn’t been widely released by Samsung, which might make it a bit difficult to obtain outside the United States. The device is available exclusively through AT&T in the States, but if you’re in basically any other country, you might need to look at importing one.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

It seems like we waited forever for Samsung to ditch plastic in its flagship phones. When it finally did, we ended up with the delicate yet potent flower that is the Samsung Galaxy S6. Suddenly, the most popular Android phone was fragile, lacked expandable storage and switched to a soldered-in battery. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active fixes one of those gripes: it throws "fragile" out the window. In fact, I tested this out by throwing the phone out of a second story window. Surprise! It survived the plummet to the grass below, though such extreme tests are not recommended. However, feel free to dunk this phone into the water, which gets plenty of shocked looks. Underwater photos and video are fun, worry-free and look fantastic, because, after all it uses the stunning Galaxy S6 camera. The S6 Active is ready for your new adventures and kids who force parents to re-buy their out-of-warranty phones, so long as you're on AT&T – and don't mind the camo.

There's a whole lot to love about the Galaxy S6 Active. If you're not about the elegant look of the Galaxy S6/Edge and you want the utility of a device with three extra hardware buttons. the Active is the device for you. We wouldn't be surprised if Samsung fond a way to incorporate the Active abilities of this device in to their standard hero smartphone when the Galaxy S7 is released. Until then, this is the hardcore phone you're going to want to take a peek at. Head to our Samsung Galaxy S6 Active AT&T details article for more information on release and pricing.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

When the Samsung Galaxy S6 was announced, we were astounded by the new, premium design – a stark departure from previous efforts. In the process, though, the S5’s water resistant quality was left out, in favor of a more premium finish. Still, while we were indulging in what the S6 brought along, we knew that it would be only a matter of time before water resistance becomes a thing again with the S6. Enter the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active, which, despite its clunkier looking design, makes some notable improvements to toughen the decision for consumers looking to pick up the S6. Indeed, its water and shock resistance gives it a more durable feel than the fragile S6, but the design is probably what most people will have to overcome and deal with if they’re out to find those features. Some things have stayed, others have been removed, but the Galaxy S6 Active feels like a faster performing phone – and one that reaches new heights with battery life.
