cheap versitile dslr

Ownership period: more than 1 year.

this guy was my second dslr. i fell in love with it after the first shot. a huge selling point was the live view. standard view finders are of course the traditional way to compose a shot. the live view just makes life easier. you can poke the camera about a crowd and tilt the screen down to catch any action you would otherwise miss. i don't know how many times i've tried to do the same in my canon and that was all guess work. i don't know too many dslr's that you can focus or track an object from the screen. not only that, this thing is dead simple to use. you can hand it to someone who have never used a camera and get great shots. another nice bonus is the image stabilization is in body instead of at the lens. that means you can get jitter proof shots with old glass. now on the other side of things there is a problem. the selection of new glass is limited compared to what canon and nikon have to offer. there are still tons of minolta lenses available but they are getting harder and harder to find. aside from that this camera is awesome. i look forward to getting upgrading to the a900.

Nice SLR

Ownership period: more than 1 year.

First i love the fact that this camera has a 14.2 MP sensor! that comboed up with a nice lens you can get so real nice picture. a nice feature is that you can also use older minolta lenses if you have them.
