As a photo printer, the MG7520 is excellent. Home users will appreciate the photo quality prints and usefulness for making craft projects such as greeting cards, calendars, etc. Our one complaint is that, for the asking price, we do wish Canon had added an ADF to the scanner; other vendors, like Epson, have. We didn’t miss the fax. Otherwise, the MG7520 has a lot going for it. It can print onto optical media, supports NFC, generates excellent quality output, and access a variety of Web- and cloud-based services. With its easy to navigate screen, all of these make the MG7520 a great choice for the home photographer or crafts aficionado.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The Canon Pixma MG7520 Wireless Photo All-In-One Printer offers Ethernet, Wi-Fi, the convenience of NFC, and above-average graphics and photo quality for an inkjet multifunction printer (MFP). But its speed and somewhat low paper capacity hold it back.

Decide what it is you're ultimately trying to do with your printer. Don't be swayed by the price or the style. If you want to create the best prints possible and you don't need to do it en masse, then I don't see why you'd need to upgrade to the Canon Pro line. But if you require speed, abundance and large-format prints, then go with the more expensive, more versatile Pro line.

If you need a good photo printer, this is it. If you plan to print a lot of documents, though, look elsewhere. If, however, you need both—a good document printer and a good photo printer, and you plan to make heavy use of both options, tread carefully. You can find plenty of great inkjet-based office printers out there that print decent-looking photos.
