MSI GS60 2PE Ghost Pro 3K Edition Pro Reviews

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Despite its glaring battery life flaw, the MSI GS60 is one incredibly well put together device. It's still one of the thinnest and most powerful gaming laptops in the world. While there's a higher-end model with a 4K screen, I strongly suggest sticking with the 1080p configuration. Though the Asus G501 is a better option from a value-proposition perspective, the Ghost Pro is simply a better gaming machine. And it's practically the same story when comparing the Ghost Pro to the Gigabyte P55K v4. While the GS60 comes at a slightly higher premium, the tech MSI has put behind the laptop's display and sound system – plus the amazing keyboard – is well worth a few extra hundred smackers.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The MSI GS60 2PE Ghost Pro has enough power to handle current games, and it’s got the screen quality to match – and all while costing less than the Gigabyte P35W v2, which has a poorer screen but a tad more gaming power. The storage, keyboard and speakers all impress, but this slimline gaming laptop struggles for longevity and has poor thermal performance. It’s thin and impressive, but be aware about the MSI’s limitations before spending any cash.

Overall, the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K-095 is an outstanding, if slightly pricey, gaming rig. The laptop scorched through our graphics and gaming benchmarks, and delivered seamless performance on Battlefield 4 with the graphics cranked all the way up. Moreover, the 3K display looks stunning—even if there are few opportunities beyond gaming to use it—and the speakers deliver pitch-perfect audio. There are a few niggling issues, however. For $2,199, we wish MSI had included a touch screen for Windows 8 productivity. The GS60 also gets uncomfortably warm when playing games, and the webcam could be better. But minor complaints aside, the Ghost Pro is an excellent choice for your next gaming laptop. It's trim, lightweight, and packed to the gills with cutting-edge components. A gamer could ask for nothing more.
