For wide-format photo imaging, the Pixma iX6820 is one of the few superior inkjet printers we've seen at its price point or lower. With superhigh resolution, excellent ink-droplet control, and a strong sense of color accuracy, it's as good in this respect as many inkjets at twice its list price. What you don't get with it are some of the fancier, detailed controls of more expensive printers, and none of the extra capabilities of an AIO unit. The Pixma iX6820 does one thing very well: complex graphical reproduction. Or like Monty Python would say, two...make that two things: complex graphical reproduction, and large-sheet handling. If you're budget-minded, you'll settle for an AIO inkjet that does a lot more, and share more of your photos as files than as printouts. The Pixma iX6820 is, like a sportscar in the garage next to the daily driver, that second printer you'll want for special occasions. The results are classy enough to pass muster for sophisticated business use, and to draw admiring comments for more casual activities involving My Image Garden and Creative Park Premium. This is a dare that Canon has visibly won.
