Samsung NX30 Pro Reviews

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The Samsung NX30 is an excellent mirrorless camera with a unique titling EVF, but its burst shooting duration is limited.

DP Review‘s review Edit

The Samsung NX30 provides a DSLR-like experience in a mirrorless camera, with the very un-DSLR-like provision of great live view performance. Its built-in EVF, high resolution APS-C sensor and connectivity features are very useful, and though we don't feel it's a class-leader in any particular way, the NX30 provides a nice option for those who want the ergonomics of a DSLR and the modern touches of a mirrorless camera.

Digital Trends‘s review Edit

Like the NX300, we can enthusiastically recommend the NX30 – it’s a high-quality CSC that delivers fine results. No question, it’s a bit on the expensive side but one mitigating factor is the inclusion of a full copy of Lightroom 5.0 editing software and a good starter kit lens. Still, it’s a grand – hardly chump change. Yet, if you’re looking for an alternative to an enthusiast DSLR, the NX30 will do the trick. Just make sure the lens selection works for you since it’s hard to top the glass libraries of Canon and Nikon.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

It seems like Samsung has finally made a camera which enthusiasts can aspire to own. It's a great camera to use, and crucially, images are fantastic. The NX system is starting to become a more complete package, with a decent, if limited, range of optics currently available. The addition of new premium lenses suggests that Samsung is now actively chasing the higher end of the market, which should make things interesting for every other manufacturer – it will be intriguing to see what kind of impact it has.

Image quality, features and design make this a tempting – and viable – alternative to a semi-pro DSLR

ephotozine‘s review Edit

The Samsung NX30 improves over the NX20 in a number of ways, including a more Digital SLR styled design, with improved grip and additional controls, as well as a higher resolution screen and electronic viewfinder. This also makes the NX30 larger than the NX20, which was larger than the rather compact NX11. This should suit those who prefer a more grip-able camera, and for those looking for a smaller mirrorless camera, there are a number of alternatives from Samsung and others. The NX30 was introduced with a number of new lenses, including a new premium 'S' range of lenses, although as shown in pictures earlier in the review, the first of these lenses isn't particularly small. For those interested in a compact system, there are a range of small pancake prime lenses, as well as a new compact 16-50mm zoom lens, which will be available. Image quality is excellent with very good noise control, good colour, and good white balance. The 18-55mm kit lens performs well, and the camera has improved video recording, including a microphone socket. The Samsung NX30 has one of the best implementations of Wi-Fi and now supports Dropbox which will make sharing and backing up photos extremely easy, as long as you have a good Wi-Fi connection. The Samsung NX30 would make an excellent choice for anyone with Samsung lenses, and the introduction of additional lenses is a good sign, although the relatively high introduction price may put some off.
