HP ProOne 600 G1 Pro Reviews

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The HP ProOne 600 G1 will work fine as a somewhat high-end business all-in-one desktop PC. However, unless you're dead set against having touch screens in the hands of your users, the alternatives with touch are a better deal for the same amount of money.

Overall, we liked the HP ProOne 600 G1 for what it is: a no-frills business PC. The all-in-one's performance, while not stellar, is more than adequate for office computing, and the gorgeous 1080p IPS display will make staring at the screen for eight hours a day more tolerable. And if you want to pump up the jam at the end of a Friday, the ProOne's speakers will easily reach every corner of the office. For their part, employers will appreciate the desktop's robust security features, particularly the ability to manage users' credentials, encrypt the hard drive, and permanently shred files. Moreover, the 3-year warranty, including 24/7 phone support and on-site service, makes the ProOne a safe investment. However, our $2,100 test unit costs significantly more than sleeker, more powerful all-in-ones. For that price, we would at least have expected the ProOne to ship with a touch screen to take advantage of Windows 8's finger-friendly interface. Unless you're willing to pay top dollar for comprehensive security, an excellent warranty, and an SSD when your office PC can probably live with a conventional hard drive, we're less than enthusiastic.
