Brother MFC-J6920DW Pro Reviews

PC World‘s review Edit

With a massive A3-size scanner platen, excellent performance, decent output, and 500-sheet paper capacity, this inkjet MFP will make short work of office chores and do it on the cheap. But there are flaws.

If oversize printing is on your printer wish list, you’ll find Brother’s MFC-J6920DW to be a well-built, attractive buy with just about every productivity and convenience feature you might want for the price. That it prints, scans, copies, and faxes at 11x17 is a huge, highly valuable bonus. Combine all that with this AIO’s exceptionally low cost per page, and the MFC-J6920DW is a winner on all accounts. We think it’s a terrific value. Our only concern was the slightly behind-the-pack image printing. That said, that’s not what this printer is about. If you’re looking for a printer primarily for photo printing, you can find plenty of models out there made for that—for example, in Canon’s Pixma and HP’s Photosmart lines. The MFC-J6920DW is meant foremost for documents and business graphics. But when it comes to filling the role of a well-rounded business-oriented AIO, it’s right up there with several of our other high-end, high-volume inkjet favorites, such as the aforementioned Officejet Pro 276dw and WorkForce Pro WP-4590. Granted, these two models may print photos slightly better than this Brother, but neither can print ledger-size pages. And that’s where the Brother MFC-J6920DW stands out: the feature set you get for the price, capstoned by ledger printing. Even if you think ledger printing is a marginal feature, we recommend you try it if you have the opportunity (and, ultimately, if you know that you'll have the space to stow this printer). Once your small or home office has had the luxury of printing oversize pages in-house, we think you’ll never want to go without it again.
