AMD Athlon X2 6000+ Pro Reviews

HEXUS‘s review Edit

What's evident is that the AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, clocked in at 3GHz, is not the fastest CPU around. AMD's understood that it cannot wrestle the performance crown from Intel with its present K8 architecture.

HardwareZone‘s review Edit

No doubt that the Athlon 64 X2 6000+ is AMD's personal milestone in offering a 3GHz processor for the consumers, offering up to 6% performance improvement over its FX-62 predecessor, it still falls short of being in our recommendation list.

xbitlabs‘s review Edit

Despite its significantly higher performance rating and $459 retail price, the new AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ processor can only compete successfully with Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, though not in all applications. From the price-to-performance prospective it is losing to the Intel Core 2 Duo at this time. So, the newcomer will have really hard times winning the user’s hearts. At least until the prices go down again.

Tom's Hardware‘s review Edit

From a performance standpoint, the new Athlon 64 X2 6000+ is no match for Intel Core 2 Duo processors from the E6700 up. However, it is still worth consideration, because AMD is very well aware of its performance handicap and adjusted the stepping as well as its processor pricing accordingly.
