Canon PIXMA MG5520 Pro Reviews

computershopper‘s review Edit

The Canon Pixma MG5520 is a bit of a mixed bag. Canon kept the price point the same as on the MG5420, but the redesign has lowered the capacity of the input tray and eliminated the ability to print onto printable CDs and DVDs. The LCD is a half-inch smaller. And the cool “Open, sesame!” output tray has been replaced by a more standard always-open tray. To be fair to Canon, the CD and DVD print tray in the MG5420 was a bit of kludge and not always worth the effort. The auto-opening door was more of a clever conversation piece than a must-have feature. And the Pixma MG5520 does print faster than its predecessor. What’s left is a no-nonsense, inexpensive AIO inkjet that provides good-quality prints for text and graphics, superior-quality photo prints, and fast photo-printing speeds. If you’re looking for a no-frills printer with a wide variety of mobile connection options, the MG5520 has a lot to offer for a reasonable price.
