Toshiba Satellite P55-A5200 Pro Reviews

computershopper‘s review Edit

You can argue that no 15.6-inch laptop is thin and light enough to satisfy a truly mobile worker, but the Satellite is a particularly poor choice if you depend on battery longevity: Its power pack lasted less than four hours in our admittedly grueling video rundown test. But if you're in Best Buy considering a P55-A5200, you probably aren't looking for the laptop that will last longest on a plane or in a crowded Starbucks. You're looking for a bodacious 1080p display, a relatively luxurious 750GB drive, a backlit keyboard, a built-in DVD drive, and sweet speakers. Those are the features that best recommend it.Still, outside of some niches such as gaming laptops (which the Satellite is definitely not), it's hard to get too enthusiastic about a Windows 8 system without a Windows 8-optimized touch interface, at least at $649. The P55-A5200 would be more tempting at $500 to $550—and as more touch-enabled laptops are released this fall (some with Intel's battery-saving fourth-generation "Haswell" processors), that price point may be coming soon.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The Toshiba Satellite P55-A5200 is a decent desktop replacement laptop that will keep regular PC users happy. It has the power to last more than the next few years, Windows 8 compatibility, and a huge non-touch screen for your media creation and appreciation.
