Creative Sound Blaster Tactic3D Rage Wireless Pro Reviews

Creative have been synonymous with audio gaming for a long time with their Soundblaster sound cards and now even gaming headsets. The headphone on review is the SoundBlaster Tactic3D Rage USB wireless headset. While there are a bevy of gaming headphones available in the market from brands like Coolermaster, Corsair, ASUS and even Creative, few of these are wireless gaming headsets. The USP of this headset is that it is USB based and so does not require an additional sound card to perform at its best. This ensures you get to hear the headset at its best regardless of where you use it. Another new feature Creative has given to this headset is its pulsating earcup lights. These lights in additional to being cool (they change colours!!!!) they can also be customized and programmed via the bundled software. The bundled software is also different from the software they bundle with their sound cards. For one the enhancements are more subtle which in my opinion makes them much more usable rather than having a setting which alters the sound to a large extent and completely change the character of the audio. However having cool flashing lights and wireless functionality are all meaningless unless the headset sounds good. Wireless headsets (being battery operated) are generally constrained in performance since they have to offer appreciable battery life as well as good quality sound.
