MSI N760 TF 2GD5/OC Pro Reviews

hardocp‘s review Edit

Our experiences with the GeForce GTX 760, specifically on the MSI N760 OC have been positive. We know NVIDIA in the past has had a Ti and non-Ti version of its "x60" variants. In this GTX 700 series refresh it doesn't look like that is going to happen. The GeForce GTX 660 Ti has been replaced by the GeForce GTX 760, and don't let the fact that it doesn't have a "Ti" label beside it get you down. We have found that this GTX 760 is capable of providing close to GeForce GTX 670 performance, the same as Radeon HD 7950 Boost performance, and performance that exceeds the GeForce GTX 660 Ti that is replacing. With all of these things being true, we can now say that the GeForce GTX 760 is a success. It is priced right at $249 MSRP. This price allows you to get GTX 670-like performance, HD 7950-like performance, and better than GTX 660 Ti performance for $50+ savings. The GeForce GTX 760 is a value financially and performance-wise. The MSI N760 OC is an excellent video card based around the GeForce GTX 760. MSI has done everything right with this video card, from its Twin Frozr IV cooler to its Military Class IV hardware components. There is overclocking potential and great performance waiting for you with the MSI N760 TF 2GD5/OC video card.

HEXUS‘s review Edit

The introduction of the reference GeForce GTX 760 was met with a certain amount of scepticism here at HEXUS. We felt Nvidia was too ardently recycling last year's GeForce GTX 670/660 Ti technology. But the attractive price point and quality of aftermarket cards, especially those equipped with sky-high frequencies, enables retail models to match the performance of Radeon HD 7970s and get pretty darn close to the vastly more expensive GeForce GTX 680. MSI's Twin Frozr Gamer OC, available right now for £220, produces an enviable balance of speed, quietness and cooling. Though certainly not the fastest GTX 760 we've seen pass through the labs, we can recommend it for the gamer looking to upgrade a two- or three-year-old card.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The 660 Ti may be a touch quieter and draws marginally less power than the 760. The difference is slight though, and the 760 is very much the superior on game benchmarks. Given that the difference in price is only around £15, this makes the 760 very much better value for money in our book. The 670 is slightly faster, but the difference isn't as great as you might expect - rarely much more than 2 fps - and this makes the significantly cheaper 760 exceptional value. The overpriced 7950 is both considerably slower and very much more expensive. We didn't expect too much from this new release, but nVidia seems to have found the perfect value-for-money card in the £200+ bracket. And that, in our book, makes this an exceptional release.

hardocp‘s review Edit

MSI has once again produced a stellar video card with the MSI N760 TF 2GD5/OC. This gaming edition video card sports a healthy factory overclock. The Twin Frozr IV cooler works extremely well and keeps the GPU well cooled so that GPU Boost 2 can tap the potential of clock speed out of this video card. There is only one flaw, and that is the annoying process to remove the power connectors due to a very large heatpipe in the way. However most of you will plug it in and leave it connected for a good while. MSI is selling this completely custom video card for only $10 over GTX 760 MSRP. Given the performance it exhibits, at $259 it is an excellent buy. With its Military Class IV hardware on board, this video card is poised to last long, and overclock well. We will dive into overclocking and let you know how that turns out, but the potential for greatness is there.

techPowerUp!‘s review Edit

Today, NVIDIA releases their GeForce GTX 760. It uses the same GK104 graphics processor as cards like the GTX 660 Ti, GTX 670, GTX 680, and GTX 770. MSI has overclocked their GTX 760 out of the box, but with only a relatively small overclock that provides a 3% performance improvement over the reference design. The new card delivers an impressive 22% performance improvement over the GTX 660 but is also priced $60 higher. In the product stack, the GTX 760 will replace the GTX 660 Ti, with the GTX 760 GAMING providing a performance that is 8% higher at $20 less. Compared to AMD's lineup, we see the card 11% faster than the Radeon HD 7950; the HD 7950 Boost variants should roughly match its performance but is more expensive. While all other companies cheapen out by using more affordable coolers, MSI goes all-in, using the same TwinFrozr cooler as the one on the GTX 770 GAMING. This more powerful cooler provides fantastic cooling performance, resulting in low temperatures and low noise levels. While other cards are quiet in idle too, MSI's card is by far the quietest during gaming. With just 27 dBA, it is quieter than most other cards on the market in idle while still packing a serious gaming punch. Any gamer who's looking for the lowest possible noise at 1080p full HD will certainly enjoy the GTX 760 GAMING.

Tom's Hardware‘s review Edit

The GeForce GTX 760 isn’t as sexy as the Titan, 780, or even 770 we reviewed most recently. Nvidia’s reference design is very GeForce GTX 670-like, and partners mostly seem to be introducing versions with axial fans that blow waste heat into your case (bummer). However, the card changes the balance of power at its $250 price point, besting more expensive AMD boards and even knocking older GeForce products out of the way. Although we’re dealing with a mature GPU and derived specifications, we’re led to the same conclusion we drew in The GeForce GTX 770 Review: Calling In A Hit On Radeon HD 7970?: GeForce GTX 760 is a card worth recommending, owing to the fact that it’s faster than pricier competition. Truly, this is the upper end of the spectrum for gaming on a 1920x1080 display, and it's more accessible than ever.
