HP Z420 Pro Reviews

computershopper‘s review Edit

Despite being a bit out of its natural element in our benchmark tests, it's obvious that the Z420 is no slouch. The machine pulls its formidable weight with grace and speed suitable for its sub-$2,000 price point. As we said in the beginning, you can find an equivalent consumer system for less, even though HP arguably indulges in a little cost-cutting with the Barracuda hard drive. But we have no complaints in the CPU, GPU, or memory departments, and HP's tower case, which can be adapted for rackmounting, is absolutely suited for demanding corporate environments—provided there is little or no dust, since HP's design has no filters. The Z420 is priced fairly for the level of validation and support HP pours into its offering, and this is really where the system makes sense: moderate-demand visual computing for a low- to moderate-range budget. If you're really serious about graphics performance, look higher up HP's stack to the Z620 or Z820. But if you're seeking dependability and support backed by decent speed, then the Z420 is a great fit.

The HP Z420 is a powerful, expandable workstation. It combines the power of a quad-core Intel Xeon processor with an Nvidia Quadro graphics to give you a powerhouse system that can grow along with your company.
