ASUS ROG G750JX Pro Reviews

www.pcper.com‘s review Edit

So, it’s far from perfect, with two pretty considerable regressions from the previous ASUS ROG iterations. Still, if you can manage to look past these issues, the G750JX offers a lot to like. It’s extremely well-built, does a great job of keeping cool, and features better input devices than just about any of its competitors. It’s a great choice for gaming as long as you’ll be plugged in.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Overall, the Asus is a superb gaming laptop. With the Blu-ray drive, it betters the Alienware 17 (its top competitor), but both seem expensive compared to other options on the market. A high-end gaming laptop may be a step too far for your wallet. But, if you can afford it, this is a superb buy.

Is the G750JX a great deal? Yes. Do we like it better than the Alienware 17—a better performer with an edgy look, a nicer display, and a slot-loading Blu-ray drive? No, but the Alienware costs $900 more. Last we looked, that would buy you 15 or 18 games.

Digital Trends‘s review Edit

The Asus G750 is the pinnacle of the company’s drive to produce mass-market gaming laptops with incredible power at an affordable price. There’s almost nothing wrong with this system, and the few downsides worth mentioning, like the matte display’s lack of visual depth, are balanced by other advantages. We could recommend this laptop even if its price was similar to the competition. But it’s not; instead, the price is lower. A similar Alienware M17x, for example, is $2,000, while Origin’s EON17 costs over $2,200 when configured with almost identical hardware. Only MSI, Toshiba, and a handful of budget boutiques (like CyberPower) can threaten the G750 on price, but they fail to equal this laptop’s overall quality. Plus, many lack a second hard drive. Customization is the sacrifice made for value, and it’s the only real complaint gamers might have. There are just two models of this laptop: a less expensive variant with a GTX 765M that retails for $1,400, and the $1,900 review unit we were sent. That’s it, at least for now, and Asus will never provide the exotic options (like custom paint) that boutique manufacturers offer. But if you don’t mind having a laptop that looks, and performs, like the rest, there’s little reason to pass on the G750. No gaming laptop currently sold offers a better mix of affordability, power, and quality.
