Toshiba Satellite S875-S7356 Pro Reviews

The Toshiba Satellite S875 is a classic 17-inch notebook which is sure to make a decent family PC. Unfortunately, a "traditional" laptop may struggle to make the most of the new Windows 8 operating system. We won't go quite as far as to declare that every Windows 8 PC needs to have a touchscreen -- there is more than one way to skin an OS -- but we will say that this notebook fails to deliver the best Windows 8 experience. Microsoft's new tile interface is a natural fit for a touchscreen and even gesture controls feel a bit limited on the traditional multitouch touchpad included on this Toshiba laptop. Granted, this isn't a major issue for those users who will basically spend all their time on the traditional Windows desktop screen, but it is something to consider if your primary reason for buying a new PC is to use Windows 8. After all is said and done, the Satellite S875 is a good general use notebook and it's sure to be priced to move this holiday season, but it fails to really excite us in terms of design, performance, or the overall Windows 8 user experience.
