Samsung WB250F Pro Reviews

PhotographyBLOG‘s review Edit

From the outside, the Samsung WB250F digital compact camera looks great. It's an attractive square of picture taking technology, filled with all sorts of features, filters and options. The optical zoom is impressive enough for a camera of this size and price point and the instant upload facility using the built-in wi-fi will attract anyone wanting a camera to go travelling with. Looking closer at the Samsung WB250F, though, there are a number of flaws. For instance, the lens quality isn't very good. While there's not a great deal of barrel distortion or pincushion, image drop off comes early and chromatic aberration was so obvious, it came up to us and shook our hands.

DigitalCameraReview‘s review Edit

The WB250F is a nice option for those casual photographers on a budget. With a retail price of about $250, this camera offers plenty of features -- especially Wi-Fi. That being said, discerning point and shoot photographers will want to look for another option...possibly the Samsung EX2F, which received much praise in our recent review. Image quality is not the best feature of this camera. It is good, but not great. The WB250F did received two thumbs up from my nine year old son who absolutely loved the motion photo effect along with some fun in-camera editing effects. At first, I questioned mentioning this in the review. However, I decided that this is a huge selling point for this camera. In a market where point and shoot cameras are a dime a dozen, having a feature that sets itself out amongst the crowd is extremely important. Admittedly, the market share of children buying cameras is extremely small, yet there is nothing better as a mom than finding something positive that peaks your child's interest. If you are comparing this camera to your smartphone, then the choice is a no-brainer. The WB250F has a much richer feature set then any smartphone out there. It's a great option for those that want a bit more than their phone can offer. Also, Samsung has done a fantastic job creating a great Wi-Fi camera. However, if you are looking for a point and shoot camera that will offer great image quality with a solid body, then you might want to set your sights toward the Samsung EX2F, also equipped with Wi-Fi.

ephotozine‘s review Edit

The Samsung WB250F packs a range of useful features which makes it an ideal travel camera - it has a versatile 18x zoom lens, yet it is small enough to carry in your pocket. Its Wi-Fi means you can connect to wireless networks and mobile devices to edit and share your pictures no matter where you are. Image quality is good, although you can't shoot in RAW. For a camera with W-Fi and a good zoom range, you can't really argue considering it is available for around the £200 mark. Recommended.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The Samsung WB250F has a long 18x zoom lens and a top-notch Wi-Fi implementation, but image quality isn't the best we've seen in its class.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

Samsung's WB250F can capture clear and vibrant images, and it gives you the bonus feature of Wi-Fi, with which you can transfer pictures from the camera to a smartphone. It has good credentials as a camera, and the Wi-Fi stuff can be useful, even though battery life takes a hit and even though some of the sharing features can be frustrating to use.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

Given its price and features, there's very little not to like about the Samsung WB250F Smart Camera. No, its photos are not digital SLR-quality, nor are they the quality of a large-sensor compact. This is still a midrange point-and-shoot when it comes to photo quality and shooting performance. For those looking to do more than simple snapshots with a phone without completely losing the fast sharing, this is a good way to go for less than $250.
