Phone Arena‘s review Edit

Right now, you’re probably logging in some serious gym time at the moment, since it’s still January, you know. Well, if you’re a gym rat, you’ll unequivocally find the Jaybird BlueBuds X as the best training partner, thanks to its robust audio quality and unique design. However, it’s not something we’d recommend using as an everyday Bluetooth headset replacement for phone calls, since it’s a bit lax in that area. Regardless of that, it’s perfectly adept in handling the needs of any active individuals out there – plus, it helps that it has a lifetime warranty against sweat. Looking at its price, though, it’s definitely on the steep side at $170 a pop.

SlashGear‘s review Edit

If you’re the sort of person who wants the best Bluetooth earbud experience on the market today, we can safely say that we’ve seen no other set better than the JayBird BlueBuds X. That all comes with a price, of course, of right around $170, a rung above the competition. Don’t expect these buds to feel like the steel-and-gold beasts that the rest of the high-cost personal audio equipment world suggests means quality – instead you’ve got plastic and rubberized connections to keep you sweatproof and hearty while JayBird delivers the high-quality audio in any high-action situation.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

I found myself struggling to come up with a rating for Jaybird Gear's BlueBuds X wireless in-ear headphones. After some tinkering, I managed to achieve a snug, pretty comfortable fit with the earphones. No, they weren't supercomfortable, but I got a tight seal and the earphones stayed in my ear while I was running. They also sounded very good for Bluetooth headphones. But as with all in-ear headphones, these won't fit everyone equally well. Some people will get an even better fit than I did, some a worse one. And, as I said earlier, that tight seal absolutely makes or breaks sound quality. The big question, of course, is whether these are worth $170. For those who get a perfect fit and are looking for small, lightweight wireless sports earbuds that sound quite decent, they may be. But I think the price is a little steep. They ultimately don't look and feel like premium Bluetooth earphones, even if they sound like them. I only say that because often people have high expectations for products that cost more than $150, particularly when they're outside the warped pricing world of Beats and Bose. That caveat aside, I have no problem recommending them. Just don't come back and say, David, they're not worth $170. No, they aren't -- unless you end up loving them.
