Acer Iconia W510-1422 Pro Reviews

computershopper‘s review Edit

Here in early 2013, we’ve heard a lot of hype and enthusiasm around Windows 8 slates, laptops, and tablet/laptop hybrids. But we’re betting that all of the various hardware configurations—RT-based machines (which won’t run standard Windows programs), Atom-processor-based machines (which will run some, but not all), and Intel Core CPU-based models (which will run virtually all of them)—will only serve to confuse many would-be buyers. We’d also guess that many users would prefer a Windows 8 slate on which they can install most Windows 8 titles, without having to worry about which programs will run and which won’t.

The Acer Iconia W510-1422 goes all day long and most of the night, with a highly portable design, and a docking keyboard that lets you choose between laptop and tablet.

PC World‘s review Edit

The W5's widescreen display will appeal to some, but kill the deal for others--a major conundrum for those eyeing the Surface and other Windows 8 tablets as well. In the end, eying those others might be a good idea--the W510 is a decent product, but it's not great and there's a lot of competition.
