ASUS ET2300INTI Pro Reviews

Despite its surprising heft, the Asus ET2300INTI made a good first impression as we got it set up and running. We liked the highly adjustable display and its bright, crisp image below the beautiful edge-to-edge glass. The variety of ports and connections in the anchor of a base certainly impressed, as did its performance—which showed more than enough muscle for mainstream applications and all Windows 8 has to offer, helped by a smoothly functioning touch screen. Against that, though, after an hour or two of use, we began to be annoyed by the sound of the Asus' constantly spinning cooling fans. Plus, the audio output itself failed to impress, despite the system employing four speakers and a subwoofer, and the lack of a Blu-ray drive was a disappointment. If you crave its performance and ports (video editing with a Thunderbolt drive array, perhaps?), the ET2300 will reward your choice. If you're seeking a more general-purpose all-in-one, though, we'd suggest something a bit sleeker—and quieter.

For better or for worse, the Asus ET2300INTI does not represent a huge upheaval in the way the company sells computers. This system offers respectable core components and a few interesting extras in a serviceable, if unremarkable, chassis. I suspect many PC traditionalists will prefer a system like this one to the slimmed-down, feature-light Vizio. Is it too much to ask that someone merge the two philosophies to create a good-looking, feature-rich Windows all-in-one?

With its dazzling multi-touch display, solid performance, and abundance of ports, the Asus ET2300INTI-B022K is an all-in-one worthy of serious consideration.
