Brother MFC-J4510DW Pro Reviews

expertreviews‘s review Edit

This printer supports regular and high-capacity ink cartridges, and using the latter should result in reasonable running costs of about 5.3p per page of mixed text and graphics. Text-only prints are likely to be a little less than the 1.8p ISO/IEC 24712 figure suggests. Unfortunately, at £170 the MFC-J4510DW is quite expensive in the first place; it's own Brother MFC-J5910DW may be bigger and uglier but at £100 it's a better, cheaper MFP if you need A3 printing.

The Brother MFC-J4510dw Business Smart Inkjet All-in-One is an excellent step forward for Brother in the SOHO/SMB market. The MFC-J4510dw is the most compact all-in-one inkjet I've reviewed that still manages to print at speeds up to 20 ppm and print on media up to 11 x 17-inches. Not mention Brother has improved the photo print quality, a 3.7-inch swipe touchscreen and added web-connection and mobile applications to the MFC-J4510dw's repertoire. There are still some issues potential buyers should consider such as the noise levels when printing and the very average scan quality when scanning in color images. However, with a decent cost per page and low initial price tag, the MFC-J4510dw is a device worth considering.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

This feature-rich and innovative printer is good value for money, especially for the small office and home office. It has a lot going for it - especially its text speeds and touchscreen controls - and although it can handle A3 pages fed in single sheets, it's the same size as most A4 printers. High-yield ink tanks are available, and they're accessed via a door in the front of the printer, so there's no need to open the lid and lift the scanner bed every time you need to replace one. And although printers aren't exactly known for their looks, the Brother MFC-J4510DW is reasonably stylish. Unfortunately, the quality of its printouts is merely average, and struggles to match the standards offered by leading home office inkjet printers such as the Canon Pixma MX895 and HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275.

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

If you're primarily needing a graphics printer, you'll find better models. But text output is good, and the features set substantial. Throw in the added convenience of the odd A3 document, and the Brother MFC-J4510DW has an awful lot going for it.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

When I was first introduced to this device in a media briefing, I expressed my surprise and satisfaction at the price tag relative to the long list of features, and my time with the review unit solidified my initial reaction. The MFC-J4510DW's work-friendly features (ADF, auto-duplexing, USB reader) play well with its cloud competence, and the redesigned chassis adds another layer of freshness to a company that I previously considered a benchwarmer in the printer game. If you're working out of your home or shopping for a printer to use in a small office, this workhorse is worth your investment.

computershopper‘s review Edit

Bottom line: We found plenty to like about the MFC-J4510DW, even if, like some other Brother models, it doesn’t perform every last function as well as some competing models. Overall, it prints, copies, and scans beyond well enough for a model designed for homes and small offices. The print engine doesn’t quite hit light-speed, but this model’s sluggishness may have a little to do with printing pages in landscape orientation. It’s not that the printhead necessarily travels further or has to lay down more ink; it probably has more to do with Brother’s need to tweak this first-generation technology in subsequent models.

PC World‘s review Edit

Brother's MFC-J4510DW is a fast, innovative inkjet multifunction that handles large paper sizes, produces nice photos and is easy to use. There's also automatic duplex printing and an ADF, and best of all: affordable ink.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

The Brother MFC-J4510DW is basically a letter-size MFP that's strong on features and adds the unusual trick of printing on manually fed paper as large as 11 by 17 inches.
