RHA SA950i Pro Reviews

techPowerUp!‘s review Edit

The RHA SA950is pose an alright value for money ratio if you use Apple i-devices. Unfortunately, there is no Android option, although it would only take minor modifications to the already separate cable. The bass on these supra aural headphones is quite good if you can get a good seal between the cup and your ears, which is a bit tricky because the ear cups are fixed rather than on a ball-joint like on any Sennheiser PX-series on-ear headphones. This issue could be solved by modding the ear pads slightly; however, it would also be interesting to have RHA make asymmetrical pads for a better alignment with the ears. The cable is really neat and its build quality is better than everything else on these headphones that feel and look a bit lackluster. The headband is generously padded, which is great in terms of boosting wearing comfort, but the ear pads let them down. The size adjusters seem a bit loose considering they use nothing but friction to keep the ear cups in place. We do not know whether this will pose durability issues, but it is probably not an issue as the headphones come with a generous 3 year warranty.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The RHA SA950i is an all-around solid on-ear model that offers decent sound for the money. I can't say they excel in any one area (design, comfort, or performance), but they're lightweight and likable. I'd like to see them come in under $50, especially with all the competition in the $60-$80 price range, but the SA950i certainly holds its own soundwise with other headphones in its price class -- and it comes equipped with an inline remote and microphone.

They are by no means overly expensive, and comparing the SA950i On-Ears to the CA-200 Over-Ears may be like comparing apples to pears but the lower priced CA-200 Over-Ear Headphones gave a better overall experience for me so my recommendation would lie there. If you prefer the look of the SA950i On-Ear Headphones and you intend to also use them for voice calls etc then you should attempt to see if you can try before you buy.
