EVGA GeForce GTX 660 SC Signature 2 Pro Reviews

HEXUS‘s review Edit

EVGA's GeForce GTX 660 FTW Signature 2 takes the mid-range potential of the GPU and encases it within a card that's super-quiet at all times. Pushing this particular GeForce boat out as far as possible, EVGA increases the framebuffer to 3GB, from a standard 2GB, but we fail to see any related performance improvements in our benchmarks. The price for constructing a premium card on this particular GPU is £190, which puts it very much in Radeon HD 7870 'SE' territory. Gaming tests show the AMD card to be faster in the majority of games, but EVGA's FTW S2 provides solid performance at a 1080p resolution common on many computer monitors today. Strong-arming the GTX 660 GPU about as far as it will go, EVGA's focus on near-silent operation and smooth performance is sure to pique the interest of those who want graphics power without an accompanying din. We'd prefer it if the card was slightly cheaper, made possible by dropping the 3GB framebuffer to a standard 2GB, but the FTW Signature 2 remains a well-rounded proposition that's worthy of consideration.
