Dell Inspiron 14z-5423 Pro Reviews

PC World‘s review Edit

The Dell Inspiron 14z Ultrabook is actually a thin, light, general-purpose laptop with Ultrabook aspirations and an optical drive. Thanks to its Ivy Bridge processor, discrete graphics card, and 8GB of RAM, the Inspiron 14z delivers respectable performance, but Dell surrenders style and hardware integrity in the bargain.

Notebookcheck‘s review Edit

The Inspiron 14z Ultrabook is offered for 900 Euros. The laptop offers a power-saving CPU and a middle-class GPU. This means it is well-equipped for multimedia use. Even Office programs run fluidly, thanks to the SSD. The case is made of brushed aluminium and synthetic material. However, the workmanship is not always good. The hinges hold the display securely, but are installed skewed. The design is quite similar to that of other Inspiron models. The connecitivity is adequate, but not very high-end. The laptop has LAN and WLAN and also offers a UMTS module optionally. This would enable surfing on the Internet via the handy network. The input devices are not as good. The keyboard layout results in more disadvantages than advantages. The typing feel is not comfortable. The touchpad is large and supports multi-touch. However, the cursor can jump, when the finger is removed from the touchpad. The display is reflective and has an average brightness of 200 cd/m². This makes it hard to use outdoors as the reflections would hinder work. The viewing angles are quite small.
