CyberPower Zeus-M Pro Reviews

computershopper‘s review Edit

The Zeus-M runs Windows 7 Home Premium, but you can opt for other flavors of Windows 7 (but not Windows 8) or no OS at all on CyberPower’s online configuration tool for the system. You can also choose to add an antivirus app when configuring the system. (None was not included on our test system.) Our test system did include the ad-supported and feature-limited Starter version of Microsoft Office 2010, and again, you can upgrade to a full version of an Office suite on CyberPower’s site at the time of purchase. Shovelware is blissfully absent on the Zeus-M.As for the warranty plan, CyberPower backs the Zeus-M with a one-year parts-and-labor scheme, and you get free technical support for the life of the system. Oddly, though, CyberPower does not offer any extended warranty plans for the Zeus-M on its site. While we like the look and application performance of the CyberPower Zeus-M, a few flaws prevent a recommendation. We would be willing to give a pass to the sticky spacebar, believing it to be a problem specific to our test machine. But the overly stiff mouse buttons make for a one-two gut punch. Navigating Windows with mouse buttons that are so hard to engage is an exercise in frustration, and a sleek ultrabook is not the type of laptop with which you would expect to use a mouse, so remediating the problem with an external pointer won't be realistic for most users. We also quickly grew tired of listening to the constant whine of the cooling fan.
