HIS 7750 IceQ X Turbo Pro Reviews

techPowerUp!‘s review Edit

The HIS HD 7750 IceQ X Turbo is an evolutionary upgrade to the AMD reference HD 7750. Instead of a single slot design, which only uses PCI-E slot power, HIS has put a bigger dual-slot cooler on the card while also adding a 6-pin power connector for improved power delivery. These changes enabled HIS to ship the card with a 100 MHz overclock on the GPU, which, in our testing, translates into a 7% performance improvement. Unfortunately, memory is not overclocked, which would have provided easily attainable performance gains. Don't expect any miracles though, HD 7700-class cards are designed for entry-level gaming at lower resolutions and reduced details settings. Gaming at 1680x1050 should be ok, but full HD gaming will be too slow with the HIS HD 7750 IceQ X Turbo. The HIS IceQ X cooler provides excellent cooling performance, but does so with more noise than is necessary. It looks to me like HIS did not properly optimize their fan settings in the BIOS, so the card emits more noise than is required since the fan runs too fast for the heat output of the card.
