HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE Pro Reviews

Engadget‘s review Edit

At first blush, it's easy to say that Verizon made a crucial misstep by excluding the One X from its lineup. While it's difficult to quickly dismiss that claim, the Galaxy S III will no doubt satisfy a large number of customers in search of a large and powerful smartphone. And besides, the Droid Incredible 4G LTE is a strong addition to Verizon's lineup, as it offers nearly all of the power and functionality of a premiere Android superphone, except in a smaller form factor. As is, the purchasing decision for Verizon customers is now clear and distinct: those who want a best-of-breed smartphone with a large display should choose the Galaxy S III, while those who want nearly the same level of performance within a smaller enclosure should choose the Droid Incredible 4G LTE. Naturally, the Galaxy Nexus remains a solid option for those who insist upon stock Android above all other considerations, and the Droid RAZR Maxx is a competent performer for those who demand maximum battery life.

TheVerge‘s review Edit

The Droid Incredible 4G LTE is essentially the little brother to HTC's One series. It has a decently fast processor, Android 4.0, and a rather good camera. HTC has put together a surprisingly nice little phone, but you will have to look past a lot of Verizon's crapware to appreciate it. It's also difficult to forget just how much better the One X is compared to this phone, with a better and larger screen, improved build quality, and more modern industrial design. To be blunt, an Android phone with a 4-inch screen feels almost quaint today. Even if that's the size you're looking for, the 960 x 540 screen resolution should give you pause. At $149.99 on a two-year contract, it's only $50 less than the Galaxy S III — a superior phone in almost every regard. The Galaxy Nexus is also $149.99 and is set to receive the Jelly Bean update in short order. With those alternatives on Verizon, you will need to be completely dedicated to the idea of having a smaller phone to consider the Droid Incredible 4G LTE.

pocketnow‘s review Edit

The Droid Incredible 4G LTE takes what’s great about the Incredible brand’s legacy and makes it better, while minimizing the shortcomings of the devices that came before it. It’ll seem a little pricy to customers shopping on the spec sheet alone, and not everyone will be a fan of its smaller stature in this age of jumbo-phones. But don’t let its small size fool you: the Droid Incredible 4G LTE is a wonderfully capable smart phone. If it helps you to think of it as a pared-down HTC One X, that’s somewhat accurate- but more importantly, it’s a great device at a great price that goes a long way toward living up to its lofty brand name.

Phone Scoop‘s review Edit

The HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE may not by a stunning flagship phone, but it’s certainly a good effort from HTC. It includes nearly all of the features that its bigger siblings do, but packs them into a smaller package. The Incredible's hardware is decent, the display dazzling, and the signal and voice performance as good as any phone I've tested. The Sense 4.0 user interface on top of Android 4.0 is slick and offers an incredible amount of flexibility to the user. The media options are excellent, and basic tools such as messaging and contact management are top-of-the-class. Perhaps the Incredible's only weakness is the camera, but it's not so bad as to be a deal-breaker. In my opinion, the Incredible's biggest problem is its lack of sex appeal. It just doesn't offer the same pizzazz that some of the competing devices do. That said, the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE does an incredible job of offering a lot in a little phone.

GSMArena‘s review Edit

We are not going to recommend you the giant screen beasts on this instance. Our guess is that, if you are looking at the HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE, you will consider them a tad too large to handle comfortably. The DROID is yet another solid offering by HTC. Curiously enough, it is the one that has the greatest chance of being successful on the US market. As you probably know, the One Series models have a serious competition from the Samsung Galaxy S III, while the Incredible 4G LTE has its niche almost all to itself. We are left a bit puzzled (just like with the HTC Evo 4G LTE) as to why would the Taiwanese giant not release a global version of the device. We strongly believe that its powerful hardware and pocketable body will enjoy quite some success in non-US markets as well, but maybe HTC is just too afraid of cannibalizing the One S sales.

The Droid Incredible 4G LTE for Verizon Wireless is a powerful, sensibly sized smartphone, but it isn't quite a 'One.'

MobileBurn‘s review Edit

The HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE is a fine phone, but it feels a bit like it was designed last year for last year's smartphone market. It doesn't really have any glaring performance issues, but compared to what is available in HTC's own One series and other devices that Verizon offers, it's hard to say that the Incredible is competitive. Those that are looking for a smaller smartphone than the behemoths that are becoming increasingly popular today should be happy with the Incredible, as its smaller size and solid performance make it pretty easy to use. But, Verizon is selling the DROID Incredible 4G LTE for $149.99 with a new two-year contract, which means that for just $50 more, you will soon be able to pick up the Samsung Galaxy S III that offers a larger, better display, better camera, faster performance, and more storage space. At that point, you have to really want a smaller screen to justify the DROID Incredible 4G LTE.

SlashGear‘s review Edit

It’s a real toss-up right now on Verizon whether you’re going to want to hit up the HTC Rezound or the Incredible 4G LTE if you do indeed want 4G LTE connectivity on an HTC device. They’re both essentially the same in many ways – though for the most advanced vision of an Android device on Verizon as presented by HTC, you’ll probably have to default to the Incredible simply because it’s got Android 4.0 and Sense 4.0 right out of the box while the Rezound still might need an update to Ice Cream Sandwich when you open it up.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The $149.99 HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE, despite suffering from an unfortunately long name, is a victim of circumstance. Priced lower than Verizon's other more compelling smartphones, namely the $299.99 Motorola Droid Razr Maxx and $199.99 Samsung Galaxy S3, it straddles the fence between low-end and cutting-edge Android devices. The problem is, though, that it doesn't play the balancing game well, offering a decent amount of features for a price that should be lower. For just $50 more you could have the Galaxy S3 that offers a superb camera, better screen, and many more features. If you must have a phone to survive all day and then some, the Droid Razr Maxx is your pricey but unbeatable option.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

When looking at the current landscape of Android smartphones, the HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE is a nice addition, but simply does not stand out from the competition as there really isn’t anything remarkable about it. Its key feature is its smaller physical size, making it usable with a single hand. It also has some nice features, such as Android ICS with HTC Sense 4 UI, good call quality, and a nice camera – all of which make the HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE a good phone, although lacking any “wow” factor.
