The Acer Aspire Timeline X 4830TG-6808 mainstream laptop is a month or two behind the curve, but it's still a solid system with all-day battery life and a reasonable price.

The AS4830TG comes equipped with Windows 7 Home Premium and a good assortment of Acer’s own utilities. Those include Acer's CrystalEye Webcam utility (used to capture pictures and video), Backup Manager, ePower Management, and eRecovery Management, plus the earlier-mentioned Clear.fi utility for streaming media to other devices. As for third-party software, Acer preloads the Dolby Home Theater software we talked about earlier; the NTI Media Maker 9 suite (for creating audio, video, and photo CDs and DVDs); and Microsoft Office 2010 Starter edition, which includes ad-supported versions of Word and Excel. The full version of Office 2010 is also preloaded for those that care to pay for a license, as is a 60-day trial subscription to McAfee Internet Security Suite.
