Canon PIXMA MX432 Pro Reviews

Macworld‘s review Edit

The Pixma MX432 is a decent, inexpensive MFP for light use. Costs for four-color pages are on par with its peers, and I find the lower-tech controls easier to use than the company's fancier efforts on its more expensive products.

Overall, We were pleasantly impressed with the Canon PIXMA MX432. We'd like to give our readers our full recommendation for this product. If you are on a budget and want an all-in-one that can print, copy, scan, fax, and print good quality photos, consider the MX432. It's made for small office, home office users who may not print every day, but need a fully functional machine that can do it all. The MX432 offers decent quality scanning and prints. We didn't think a $100 machine could possibly achieve these things, but it did - upping its overall value even more. The text prints were clear and bold, and the photos had good contrast and most people would be surprised with it. The printer also offers fast printing. The draft and default documents printed within about 6 seconds, and 4 x 6 photos quality print within only 40 seconds. Snapping a photo and printing it with your MX432 could take mere minutes! Other great features hover around the extensive software that allows you to put together a calendar or sticker book with ease. And, the MX432 isn't very costly as far as energy use goes. We tested it out - it takes less power than most inkjets in the market. It can't be overlooked that we found it to be reliable either; we never once ran into a paper jam or misfeed.

Without question, Canon makes well-built printers that churn out excellent-looking business documents and photos. The problem is, it's not alone. In these trying economic times, small and home-based businesses need all the help they can get—and paying a few hundred extra dollars each year for printer ink would be, for many conscientious business owners, unacceptable. Finding a $100 AIO that prints well at a reasonable CPP just isn't that difficult, and the MX512's CPPs just aren't that reasonable. As we said about the MX512 when we reviewed it, were Canon to bring its per-page ink prices more in line with its competitors', we'd gladly recommend this AIO. It printed, copied, and scanned well—as well as or better than its competitors. But we don't think even Canon's vaunted, above-average photo-image print quality is enough to justify the higher CPPs here.
