LG Lucid Pro Reviews

TheVerge‘s review Edit

The LG Lucid is among Verizon’s cheapest LTE phones, and for a lot of users that’s a really important advantage. If you buy this phone, by and large you should be happy with it — I don’t like its UI skin or its display, but its performance is solid, it’s a relatively good-looking device, and its LTE performance is good if not bar-setting. But given that you’ll likely be using your phone for the next two years, it becomes a dangerous proposition: the Lucid reeks of a phone that will be quickly forgotten by both carrier and manufacturer, and having your phone abandoned is a frustrating place to be. The price difference also becomes less meaningful over time, and Verizon has a number of phones that are far better options. For $99, you can get the iPhone 4, and at $199 or $299 you’ll open up everything from the long-lasting RAZR Maxx to the Galaxy Nexus and the iPhone 4S. The HTC Rezound is also currently $30 less than the Lucid, and adds a 720p display to the equation as well — you should absolutely buy it instead of the Lucid. The Lucid’s a fine phone, but nothing about it screams “buy me!” And on the Verizon store shelves, lots of other phones do.

Phone Scoop‘s review Edit

Overall, the LG Lucid is a fine little phone. It scores well on most features. Though I think it's a bit plain in the fashion department, the hardware works well and offers a balance of features and transportability. It's a good voice phone, has excellent data performance, a wonderful screen, and decent battery life. The user interface is a cinch to learn, flexible enough to suit most people, and fast enough to power through even the most intense games I threw at it. Add to these characteristics a decent camera, a few unique widgets, and good multimedia performance and the Lucid is practically a homerun. If you're looking for 4G on a budget, the $80 LG Lucid is a solid device. I'd recommend it highly for anyone who prefers function over form.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The LG Lucid may not be a high-profile flagship mobile device, but it's nicely built and its performance is sound. If it's going to be your first smartphone, it'll certainly spoil you from here on out. The processor is zippy, the network is the fastest available, and the camera is satisfactory. The display is also one of the better ones I've seen in the phone's class. Speaker and call quality aren't anything to write home about, but for the reasonable price of $80, it's definitely a good buy.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

A year ago, owning a Verizon 4G LTE smartphone meant having to fork over a load of moolah, such as the case with devices like the Samsung Droid Charge and LG Revolution when they were initially launched. Over time, as we’ve seen mostly in the last few months, there has been a transformation where devices became more affordable – and that’s the case we see here with the LG Lucid. Frankly, it’s not that phone we think about as we’re lucidly dreaming at night, but rather, it’s just one of those handsets that has a balanced appeal to it. Factoring in its attractive body, high spec’d hardware, and oh-so affordable $80 price, it’s well rounded enough to attract the attention of most people.

SlashGear‘s review Edit

LG has done a decent job here releasing a top-of-mid-range device for the masses, not quite overtaking what they’ve already got released on Verizon with the LG Spectrum, but certainly a fine phone for those with hands that aren’t goliath in size. This device is available at Verizon starting this week and you can pick one up online in Verizon’s online shop for $79.99 after online discount and 2-year contract. Grab it!

The LG Lucid for Verizon Wireless is a powerful Android smartphone at an unusually low up-front price.
