Samsung NP700G7C-S01US Pro Reviews

Notebookcheck‘s review Edit

Samsung presents a worthy successor for the 700G7A. It is an exciting alternative to the established gaming brands. The notebook features high-performance equipment that should meet all needs satisfactorily. A variably lighted keyboard and additional controls, such as volume or the dial on the side for four different operating modes, underline the notebook's position. So it is even more pleasing that the 700G7C did not forget the precursor's upsides and, for example, also includes an excellent screen that supplies a very good brightness and contrast even for outdoor use - although it is reflective. The case quality is sooner midfield, but at least it does not have any major flaws. Even if the display lid does not seem quite as stable as it should for a top device, it will unlikely be the breaking point. The glossy plastic is sensitive for fingerprints and scratches and contradicts the actual luxury image a bit. A possible point of complaint may be the absent SSD that is found in high-performance devices nowadays - and which is all the more obligatory in a device that cost almost EUR 2000. Here, Samsung relies on a hybrid solution that is to speed up applications via the "ExpressCache" with an 8 GB SSD, but this performance lags behind a full-blown SSD on which the entire system partition would be stored.
