Samsung Exhilarate Pro Reviews

GSMArena‘s review Edit

Eco-friendly body aside, there's nothing revolutionary about the Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate I577, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. It offers decent performance, a good camera and solid build quality to go with a low price tag. AT&T's LTE network is a joy to use, where available too. In a nutshell, the Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate is all the smartphone most users will ever need. Unfortunately however, having the above qualities is no longer a guarantee for success with today's cut-throat competition in the Android world. The Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate lacks the looks to attract many potential buyers. Its ageing OS doesn't help its cause either - in a time when people talk Jelly Bean updates; there's no word if the device will make it even to Ice Cream Sandwich. If you don't care about all this stuff, then look no further than the I577. Its $29.99 price tag is more than acceptable too. In case you are willing to shop around, here are some alternatives.

Phone Scoop‘s review Edit

Samsung did a fine job with the Galaxy Exhilarate for AT&T. For a mid-range device, it scores well across the board. To use a sports analogy, it won't make the All Stars team, but it would be a solid competitor for the league's MVP. I am particularly impressed with the materials in the Exhilarate and how well it is put together. This is by far Samsung's best eco-friendly effort. If you didn't know ahead of time that it was made from 80% recycled post-consumer materials, you'd never know it. The same cannot be said of some of Samsung's earlier efforts. Beyond that, the Exhilarate gets all the basics right. The user interface is speedy and easy to use; phone calls sound great and the Exhilarate maintains a strong connection to AT&T's network; the media features -- particularly the camera and video camera -- deliver strong results; and all the essential communications tools are covered. In a world full of smartphone extremes, the Exhilarate strikes a good balance, and in so doing, finds an identity all its own.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate started off looking good on paper, and got better and better throughout the course of my testing. I'm not sure if the handset is always faster than others, or if I got lucky with my review unit and testing pattern, but AT&T's LTE speeds were on fire. The screen, the processor, and the video deliver; and the price tag that's now 40 percent lower just keeps ratcheting up the value. There are still trade-offs to be made. The Exhilarate isn't superlative in any category apart from LTE, and I was expecting more from the camera. The phone isn't fancy or slim, and there aren't as many bells and whistles as there are on a flagship phone like the Galaxy S3. Think of it as a really good midrange phone and you'll be happy. Otherwise, you may wind up frustrated at the good-but-not-great camera and a phone that could easily ride Gingerbread for some time.

Phone Arena‘s review Edit

In an era where $100 can get you a pretty stacked smartphone, you’ll need to do a lot of thinking if you’re considering picking up the Samsung Exhilarate at $49.99 on-contract. Overall, we’re pleased by its well-balanced package – and it helps that it’s one of the better-looking eco-friendly devices out there! However, it’s rather difficult to put this into consideration knowing that for $50 more, you can pick up the Sony Xperia ion for $100 – or better yet, if you want to experience the best of the best, the Samsung Galaxy S III is there. Still, there’s a home for this little guy, seeing that not everyone is in the market for super spec’d smartphones. Therefore, if you prefer something that’s still capable of delivering a tasteful experience, the Samsung Exhilarate will no doubt exhilarate your interest.
