The out-of-box performance out of the ASUS Radeon HD 7970 was far above the previous generation's Radeon HD 6970 video card. It also manhandled the stock NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 which has a nearly identical price tag. One of the more impressive features of this video card was the room we had to overclock, and the performance that we received from it. There may not be a video game out currently that would prohibit the ASUS Radeon HD 7970 from playing at the highest graphics settings on a single display setup. The ASUS Radeon HD 7970 may be purchased from Newegg for $559.99, but is currently marked as out-of-stock due to the high demand and popularity.
