LG Connect 4G Pro Reviews

Phone Scoop‘s review Edit

LG almost succeeds in crafting a good smartphone for MetroPCS in the Connect 4G. Some of the key features, such as battery life, display, and overall usability, score really well. The problem is the features that don't score well, including voice/data performance, and the speediness of the user interface. The result is a mixed bag. If either voice or data were excellent, I'd have no problem recommending this device as a good voice-only phone, or a good data-only device. With both being less than optimal, it's hard to green light the Connect despite its other strengths. Add to these the somewhat questionable camera performance and laggy user interface, and the LG Connect 4G becomes a case of the bad outweighing the good.

PC World‘s review Edit

Even with its weak camera, the Connect is still the phone to get if you're looking for a contract-free smartphone. With specs better than those of most contract-bound devices, the Connect really raises the bar for what to expect from prepaid phones in the future. I hope LG remembers to update the Connect to Ice Cream Sandwich later on, but as it stands, the Connect is an excellent phone for an excellent price.

The LG Connect 4G is an excellent contract-free smartphone, with a fast dual-core processor and inexpensive monthly plans on MetroPCS.

MobileBurn‘s review Edit

The LG Connect 4G is a mid-range smartphone with mid-range specs to match. It does well in some areas, but falls on its face in others. Its saving grace may just be its price, however, as MetroPCS is offering it for $319 after rebate. That may sound steep, but MetroPCS does not require a contract with any of its rate plans or phone purchases, so you are essentially buying the phone outright. Speaking of plans, MetroPCS offers an unlimited plan with endless talk, text, and web services, plus unlimited streaming from Rhapsody for a mere $60 per month. Try to match that with a national carrier and you will come up empty handed. So, for the value conscious shopper, the Connect 4G might just be a suitable option. It is certainly better than the other smartphones in MetroPCS's lineup, even if it doesn't excel at everything it attempts.
