Sony BRAVIA KDL-55EX723 Pro Reviews

www.whathifi.com‘s review Edit

Sony has dropped 52in screens in favour of this bigger size. And unusally in a size sector that tends to favour plasmas, it's an LCD screen. It has an edge-LED backlight (which helps keep its depth down to 4cm), and a dynamic contrast setting that Sony says is ‘mega’. We probably wouldn’t go that far ourselves, but it is true that the EX723 produces deep blacks, and combines these with pure whites.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

It may be 3D-ready, but this 55-inch LED telly struggles with the third way. Otherwise one of the finest 2D sets around, with a peerless online dimension, we’re nevertheless not sure that a TV that lacks both built-in WiFi and 3D glasses should command such a high price tag. Another great effort from Sony for 2D, but there are better value choices around – and better 3D performers.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Expensive, but worth it for 2D performance, the KDL-55EX723 is nevertheless not the all-rounder we'd hoped for. An engaging online dimension, some awesome 2D Blu-ray and notable upscaling aside, the picture performance is blighted by some troubling 3D images. Elsewhere it falls short of its modular design by making it tricky to accessorise, but the main problem is a lack of 3D glasses, which for this kind of money is hard to understand.
