Denon DVD-A1UDCI Pro Reviews

AVForums‘s review Edit

The Denon DVD-A1U is an incredibly comprehensive, incredibly expensive optical disc player. It plays 1080p Blu-ray Discs as well as every other player I've reviewed (accurately), and also does an outstanding job of DVD. It handles 1080i HD content better than several other players, although not as well as one considerably cheaper player, which is embarrassing on paper but also fairly inconsequential given the scarcity of 1080i content.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

So, in case you hadn't realised, I reckon the Denon DVD-A1UD is the reference disc-spinner by which all others will be judged for some time to come. It's not just a high-end Blu-ray player – it's so much more.

Home Theater‘s review Edit

The Denon DVD-A1UDCI offers cutting-edge video that’s unexcelled, and it’s the best-sounding BD player I’ve heard to date. By about a mile and a half. On that criterion alone, this player is the proverbial bomb. However, this player does leave me a little conflicted. I loved its picture and sound every day it was here, and it made me dig into my movie and music library with glee. But I wanted to have my cake and eat it too. I consistently wished for better speed in disc loading and access times, as well as swifter response with interactivity.

Audioholics‘s review Edit

The Denon DVD-A1UDCI Universal Blu-ray player exemplifies flagship performance and status from a company that continually strives to be the leader in high performance audio gear and transports. It flawlessly plays every disc format currently relevant in the marketplace. The fact that every output is always active on this player gives an end user and/or installer almost endless configuration options on how one could utilize this player. With one DVD-A1UDCI, you can simultaneously feed two HDMI displays or A/V receivers with up to 1080p video and trueHD / DTS HD audio, up to 720p resolution via component video to a third display, 480i video for auxiliary displays via S-video and composite video, and balanced two-channel analog audio for a high end two channel rig.
