Aaxa P4 Pro Reviews

ProjectorCentral‘s review Edit

The AAXA P4 gets points for its portability and features that enhance that portability. Most obviously, its ability to read files from memory, so you don't have to lug along an image source, can make it a lot more portable in practice than a smaller, lighter projector without that feature. The P4 also offers some welcome touches that make it easy to setup. It's a lot easier to focus than most pico projectors, with a thumbwheel that has just the right level of resistance to let you control it easily. And like many pocket projectors, it comes with a tripod you can use to adjust the height and make it easier to point up or down to whatever you're using for a screen.

TechCrunch‘s review Edit

While the P4 is well-built, compact, and produces a really bright and solid picture, its other features are just not very usable. To be fair, the others in the space are often just as poor performers: I haven’t met a pico projector yet that provides a satisfactory movie-viewing experience or is actually easy or fun to navigate. If you want a multimedia device, the P4 isn’t for you. If you don’t mind the noise and plan on doing mostly pass-through stuff from other sources, it could be just fine. They do have a smaller, slightly less bright version coming out (the P3) which might be a little more practical, but that doesn’t come out for a few months.

SlashGear‘s review Edit

I’ve seen this projector in action for over 2 weeks now. I used it to stream a few clips while visiting family for my extended holiday vacation and everyone was pleasantly surprised by the sound and image output. With 1 watt stereo sound its nothing special but gets the job done. You wouldn’t expect such an incredible bright and vivid picture from this small pocket-able unit — but it does impress. Battery life is rated for 75 minutes of usage but while outputting 720p video that time dropped significantly and it lasted around 60 minutes for me. While that isn’t very long, completely battery powered is the key here. Being small and weighing under a pound, being fully portable and battery powered makes this perfect for business situations where a full fledged projector isn’t possible. To conduct a full presentation with this quality all on the go with no wires is what sets this apart from the others. For those needing a bigger, longer lasting device for those weekly earnings reports AAXA also has some larger micro projectors to suite all needs. For a fun toy the pricing is a bit steep but for the on-the-go businessman or professional it should find a place easily in your laptop bag of gear.
