nVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 Pro Reviews

HotHardware‘s review Edit

Despite the pricing, which is likely to change anyway, the GeForce GTX 285 is a very strong product. As we've mentioned, it's the fastest single-GPU powered solution on the market today and that should make it very attractive to anyone building a new rig, or upgrading from the previous generation. Finally, we're happy to see NVIDIA continuing to make strides, optimizing their core GPU architecture and executing so well on roadmap releases in their potent 3D Graphics lineup.

ExtremeTech‘s review Edit

The GeForce GTX 285 is the fastest single-GPU card you can get right now. Given that there are still some drawbacks to multi-GPU graphics cards, that's a pretty good feather in Nvidia's cap. The real problem is the price. At around $380, it's more expensive than the GeForce GTX 280 it replaces. It's faster, but not faster enough to justify the difference in price—especially when this card is less expensive for Nvidia to make.

This is a good, stable and very fast setup that's going to cost a small fortune. The thing is, though, if you have the money, want the power and just love gaming, you're not going to be disappointed!

Nvidia's new GTX 285 is a 55nm shrink of the GT200 core that powered the GTX 280; can it compete with ATI's cards?
