nVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 Pro Reviews

computershopper‘s review Edit

With blazing-fast speed and better support for multiple monitors than previous multi-GPU GeForce cards, the GTX 295 is a power gamer's dream come true.

Overall Quad SLI is very fast, it can produce very high framerates. However, it doesn’t provide real-world gameplay improvements in today’s games over a single GTX 295.

HotHardware‘s review Edit

Regardless of pricing though, NVIDIA's new baby is impressive. The new GeForce GTX 295 was undoubtedly a very complex piece of hardware to design, but NVIDIA pulled it off and they have recaptured the 3D performance crown as a result. If you've got the coin and are looking for the ultimate in gaming performance, look no further.

Fastest graphics card out there, reasonable power usage. All you need to know is this: if you have a big, high-res monitor and you want the fastest single graphics card money can buy, that card is the GeForce GTX 295.

www.pcper.com‘s review Edit

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295 has definitely taken back the top performance spot from AMD and the HD 4870 X2 card - a new king has been crowned. By combining two 55nm GT200 GPUs into a single graphics card design NVIDIA was able to reassert leadership in the market - a move the company was in desperate need of.

TechSpot‘s review Edit

Overall we are very pleased with the numbers produced by the GeForce GTX 295 and we are even happy about its price. All that said, if price is no object and you want the most powerful single card solution money can buy, then the GeForce GTX 295 is your poison.

HardwareZone‘s review Edit

In sum, it would not be superfluous to say that NVIDIA has finally countered ATI's advances, and that the GeForce GTX 295 is at this moment the best graphics card money can buy. However, it remains to be seen how NVIDIA can transfer its successes in the enthusiast segment to its mainstream one.

Tom's Hardware‘s review Edit

What we do know is that Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 295 is fast. We know that the company’s move to 55 nm is translating to real power-savings - after all the GTX 295 ducked in under AMD’s Radeon HD 4870 X2 at idle and under load.

Tom's Hardware‘s review Edit

Given the GTX 275’s rather substantial clock speed advantage, is that you’ll quite easily outmode a GTX 295 using a couple of 275s - often with frame rates that are 10% higher or more. Moreover, the single-GPU cards are actually cheaper than the premium dual-GPU board. The direction you take your own gaming system will naturally depend on a number of different variables, and the practicality of a GeForce GTX 295 might outweigh the performance advantages of two GTX 275s.

As we’ve already said, as if the GTX 295 wasn’t powerful enough already. When it comes to overclocking the card, it has some serious potential.

hardwarecanucks‘s review Edit

All in all, this card has left a pretty positive first impression with me but it is evident that Nvidia has a ways to go when it comes to ironing out some of the kinks. Even though CPU bottlenecking becomes a real concern at lower resolutions, cards like this shine at 2560 x 1600 and allow you to really crank the image quality settings.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

Nvidia's GeForce GTX 295 is the single fastest 3D card on the market, and for a relatively aggressive price. Added bonuses like power efficiency and PhysX support sweeten the deal, but even without those extra benefits, we'd still recommend this card for its processing power and comparative value.
