The HP LaserJet Pro M1217nfw multifunction product (fax, copy, print and scan) is a good choice for small business users who do not need to print in color. We would recommend this product due to the quality of the text prints, the compact build (especially for a multifunction product), and the faster print speeds for its class. The M1217 also has wireless capability. We would like to point out that the printer misfed in our tests every so often--a deal breaker for some, but it happened so rarely that we still stand by our recommendation.

This is a good, inexpensive machine for the small office, which can handle the four key tasks: print, scan, copy and fax. It’s quick, produces good quality print, unless you’re copying greyscale originals, and is cheap to run. The ergonomics aren’t as sound as on some other HP machines, but it’s still a contender.
