Huawei Vision coming to the UK in time for Christmas

Huawei has come to town to announce that its flagship Gingerbread smartphone, the Huawei Vision, will be hitting the UK in time for Christmas.
Old London Town, that is - the location for the Chinese company's dedicated European design centre for its Mobile Device business, that it will open at the beginning of next year.
If you didn't know already, the Vision is an Android 2.3 device that boasts a funky new UI over the top with a nice 3D (in the old sense of the word) effect going on.
But don't go getting all excited thinking it might get an Ice Cream Sandwich update - it won't. That's according to OneMobileRing, who learnt from a product spokesperson the handset will not be making the jump ...

Huawei this morning offered the world a video sneak peak of the Vision, its "most stylish smartphone yet," and like clockwork, the thing has popped up -- albeit less flashily -- on the FCC's site. The admittedly slick-looking handset packs Gingerbread, a 1GHz processor, and a 3.7 inch capacitive touchscreen into a unibody frame that's 9.9 millimeters at its thinnest. As for that "3D interface" the company's been talking up, you can see that in action after the break.

The Huawei Vision might not have the guts to compete with dual-core equipped powerhouses ruling the market, but with a 3.7” and 1GHz chip powering Gingerbread it definitely has what it takes to sell 1 million. And that's the exact sales target of the Shenzhen network equipment and phone maker Huawei.
The Vision is among the company's first attempts to go head-to-head with the big names in the industry, but it also kickstarts a series of smartphones for the company that are expected to be better linked to the cloud.
