www.whatdigitalcamera.com‘s review Edit

Overalll, this lens has now proved itself to be a worthy contender for ultra-wideangle shooting use and a deserved winner of our Recommended award.

slrgear‘s review Edit

There's no denying that with a focal range of 10-24mm, the Tamron lens is the current champ of ultra-wide range (the Canon 10-22mm comes in second). Its optical performance is very good: nice and sharp at 10mm, except in the extreme corners and good tolerance to CA (again, except in the corners). Distortion is a little high - fairly typical for wide-angle lenses - and corner shading is a bit high, as well. Both of these can be solved in post-processing, though. With a price point lower than its existing ultrawide 11-18mm, the Tamron 10-24mm is an attractive proposition, offering good performance and exceptional value in the same package.

ephotozine‘s review Edit

The Tamron 10-24mm is a worthy wide angle option. It will suite both landscape and building photographers. There's minimal distortion and it's competently sharp across the focal lengths. It's not brilliant fully open, but more than adequate for most users.

ephotozine‘s review Edit

This lens is a good performer resolution-wise, and should satisfy most photographers shooting APS-C sized sensor cameras, especially when used at its optimum settings. This lens costs less than the competition, from third-parties and manufacturers, and so it represents excellent value for money.

DP Review‘s review Edit

Tamron was originally slightly late to the party in marketing an ultra-wide zoom for APS-C/DX sensor DSLRs, with the company's 11-18mm F4.5-5.6 appearing in June 2005. This lens turned out to be the last in a flurry of releases that also included Sigma's 10-20mm F4-5.6 DC, Tokina's 12-24mm F4 DX and Canon's EF-S 10-22mm F3.5-4.5 USM (Nikon had stolen a march early on, with the 12-24mm F4 DX appearing two years previously)...
