TomTom GO LIVE 825 Europe Pro Reviews

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

At £220 the 825 isn’t a cheap purchase. What you are really paying for is the ability to use the live services. That sounds like a steep price to pay for two extra features, but they are very much worth it, especially if you do a lot of driving. The HD Traffic has saved our bacon plenty of times over the course of our driving, so it would be churlish of us not to recommend it. We also love the Google live search, especially when you're hungry with a moaning family demanding a trip to Little Chef. What the Go Live 825 gives you though is a very good, very easy to use GPS that will get you to the ball on time, every time – unless you plan to go via the Channel Tunnel.

PC Pro‘s review Edit

It’s an excellent satnav, then, and a worthy successor to the Via Live range. It even comes in at roughly the same price as its predecessor, but we’d probably buy the 4in Go Live 820 in preference to this 5in model, purely because it’s cheaper.

ITreviews‘s review Edit

We prefer the 5in resistive screen of the GO LIVE 825 over its more expensive siblings, but the captive mount is nowhere near as good. In terms of features and functions, however, it has everything found in the rest of the GO LIVE range, so if your budget is tight, this is the one to go for.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

The TomTom Go Live 825 Europe proves that the world's best sat nav is now even better. The new operating system, improved UI and enhanced navigation options are worth the money alone. Optional Live services such as Traffic HD and Safety Camera updates are the cherry and the icing of an already yummy cake.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

There’s nothing particularly revolutionary about TomTom’s GO LIVE 825. It bundles together features that the company already offered in other devices. In fact, it’s almost like a hybrid of the recent Via and previous GO LIVE models. But in a market where there’s an increasing trend towards 5in devices no longer being much of a premium, such as Mio’s Spirit 685, this is a hybrid which seems just about right. On the one hand, it is still well above an entry-level price. But the 825 is a 5in with maps for 45 European countries and its price of £229.99 is also £70 less than the UK-only TomTom GO 540 LIVE was at launch. So if you’ve coveted a fully featured TomTom LIVE device for a while but thought the cost was too high, this could be your chance to pick up these capabilities for a more reasonable sum.
