Dell Latitude E6420 ATG Pro Reviews

PC Advisor‘s review Edit

The Dell Latitude E6420 ATG is as solid and speedy as a Welsh winger, though we do have one or two concerns about the quality of the construction. The performance is undeniably good, though, and the odd component upgrade here and there could really make the difference for you depending on your needs. The price tag of £1,133 inc VAT might look a touch on the steep side, but if you need a laptop that won't object to a bit of a rough ride in your backpack or the boot of your car then it's worth paying the extra.

Notebookcheck‘s review Edit

The Dell Latitude E6420 with the tag ATG supplies additional portability (handle) and ruggedness (ballistic armor). That will appeal to everyone who doesn't exactly treat his/her device with kid gloves, or people who use their laptop remote from cushioned business lounges. The ATG is an alternative particularly for use outdoors in the sun. The screen's brightness sets a new record with a large gap: 763 cd/m2. A loyal companion with high reliability is created in combination with the shock-proof SSD and prolific typist-suitable input devices. If you have reasons for a semi-ruggedized notebook, you luckily don't have to choose from hundreds of models. In addition to Panasonic (Toughbook C1), only Getac (S400) and Wortmann (TERRA Mobile INDUSTRY 1280) offer corresponding devices. However, there are other niche players.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

From its semi-rugged construction to its beefy Intel Core i7 processor, the Dell Latitude E6420-ATG is made to take a beating while providing all of the functionality you need from a business laptop.

LAPTOP Magazine‘s review Edit

The Dell Latitude E6420 ATG is a semi-rugged laptop that offers exceptional power and battery life and a more durable design than your typical business machine. However, at $3,012, this notebook is quite expensive. In fact, for the price delta between the ATG model and the regular Latitude E6420, you could get a whole other non-ruggedized E6420, so you have to really need the extra protection this laptop offers. We also wish the E6420 ATG did a better job of shrugging off our water spill test. Overall, though, the E6420 ATG is a viable option for workers who are hard on their machines.

PC World‘s review Edit

The Dell Latitude E6420 AGT is clearly meant for corporate users who want a machine that can not only survive rough-and-tumble conditions but also crunch serious numbers over a full day on the road, whether a power outlet is handy or not. Unless you need such a seriously sturdy, powerful laptop (and you don't mind lugging it around), you can probably find acceptable alternatives (including other Dell models) for a lot less money.

NotebookReview‘s review Edit

The Dell Latitude E6420 ATG is one of the most well-balanced notebooks we've seen in the semi-rugged class of business notebooks. The system is a bit pricey, however, and suffers in screen resolution options and ease of upgrades. It is also heavy, weighing in at about seven pounds.
