Philips BDP7600 Pro Reviews

www.whathifi.com‘s review Edit

The Philips BDP7600 scores highly in the style stakes. The remote control is neat, as is the fact you can download Philips’ MyRemote App from iTunes and control the player through an iPod Touch or iPhone over a wireless home network. The set of eight-channel analogue audio outputs on the back of the machine is a rare sight on a budget Blu-ray player, and a useful addition for owners of older home cinema amps with no HDMI inputs.

Pocket-lint‘s review Edit

Superb handling of discs of all types along with a media-savvy approach to entertainment - particularly its MyRemote smartphone app - make this a great all-rounder that pushes the boundaries for a Blu-ray player. The appearance of BBC iPlayer helps save its otherwise rather bare bones Net TV platform, but the mirrored BDP7600 oozes enough quality elsewhere while remaining good value.

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

When it comes to disc playback, the BDP7600 doesn't disappoint. Blu-rays look suitably detailed, with smoothly gradated colours and scads of texture. The player's two-channel audio presentation is also above average, making this a good choice for CD fans. The BDP7600 is the fastest loader in our group by the tiniest of margins, but takes a while to wake.

www.trustedreviews.com‘s review Edit

The BDP7600 deserves a place on your shortlist for several reasons – its elegant design, satisfying build quality, dazzling 2D and 3D pictures, busy feature list and simple operating system. Feature highlights include built-in Wi-Fi, Net TV, the longevity of which is boosted by full internet browsing, and media streaming from PCs, while the wide format support, detailed picture tweaks and smartphone control are also welcome. Overall we’d probably still choose the DMP-BDT310 or BDT210 by virtue of their slightly better picture quality, extra 3D features and slicker menu system, but anyone who goes for the cheaper Philips won’t be disappointed.
