The best way to look at the Kodak ESP Office 2170 is as a photo printer that also handles basic office chores in low volumes. If nothing else, its inexpensive inks make it far cheaper to operate than most others in its class.

I would recommend the Kodak ESP Office 2170 to consumers looking for an upgrade to their single-function inkjet or to professionals who need a personal AIO in their office. Even small workgroups and businesses will probably need a more heavy duty option to keep up with their work flow.

The Kodak ESP Office 2170 isn't without its faults. We'd prefer a larger screen and, of course, the speed is disappointing. It's a real shame that you couldn't use this MFD for urgent text jobs, as otherwise it's got the strong scanner (with great software), great choice of interfaces, and the generally versatile features set needed to make it a strong choice. For those wanting colour graphics with a little text, though, the 2170 is extremely competitive. And those superb running costs might be the final winning factor.

Most of the key selling points for Kodak all-in-ones over the competition are still present in the ESP Office 2170. Print quality is good, though not the best, and running costs are low. While print speeds are not as good as from the previous range, the feature set is strong, with support for both business and photo functions. Certainly one to consider.

The 2170 is a quality four-in-one machine. If you’re in the market for just a printer, though, you’ll be easily overwhelmed with the options you aren’t using as well as paying far too much. It seems like Kodak banks on the 2170’s worth because of its cost-saving ink, but it falls a little short on other important functionalities, like document print speed. But otherwise, you can stioll get all of your home office needs taken care of with this device, and superior photo printing quality, which was easily one of the most impressive elements of the printer. The Pic Flick app and wireless functionality also make a good argument for the 2170.
