Logitech Squeezebox Touch Pro Reviews

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

If you haven't gathered by now, the Logitech Squeezebox Touch isn't for casual users: if you don't know what a NAS is, for example, don't buy this product. If you want something easy then get something from Sonos, it'll be fantastic. If you are a hi-fi enthusiast, though, you'll find plenty to tinker with in the Logitech Squeezebox, and despite some occasional server slowdowns, it's a great product to use.

Macworld‘s review Edit

The Squeezebox Touch is a great way to connect Internet music sources and your own collection to a set of external speakers, especially in a home theater. While its display is not as big or as bright as its predecessor the Squeezebox Classic, the fact that it’s a touchscreen means you don’t have to hunt for a remote to quickly turn down the sound or skip a track.

The Touch is a useful addition to the Squeezebox range and has no real faults beyond being priced a little too closely to the Squeezebox Duet that, at only £30 more, represents better value for money and is more versatile as the heart of a multi-room music system.

Engadget‘s review Edit

The Touch is another great addition in the Squeezebox series and, for many, the missing link in home entertainment system that needs only network connectivity. Build quality is predictably top-notch, audio quality is great, and compatibility with nearly any OS is killer. But, it's best suited for a situation where your entertainment system isn't too far out of reach, because interacting with the Touch is, unsurprisingly, best when you can touch it.

PC Magazine‘s review Edit

Logitech's latest touch-screen-enabled Squeezebox works well, streaming music from your computers and the Web without hiccups, but for $300, it's light on extra features.

It's its flexibility that really sells the Squeezebox Touch and that makes its £235 asking price a steal. Only a Sonos system could better it for slickness and capability, but Sonos kit is significantly more expensive. Given the choice, we'd still go for the Sonos set-up because of the superior multi-room capabilities, but if you know you only want a stand-alone streaming-audio solution, the Squeezebox Touch is it.
