Panasonic DMP-BDT310 Pro Reviews

AVForums‘s review Edit

The Panasonic DMP-BDT310 is the Japanese Manufacturer's flagship Blu-ray player this year and, as such, comes loaded with features such as built-in wi-fi, access to Panasonic's older Vierra Cast internet portal, Skype compatibility and, of course, 3D playback. Terming a product as 'flagship' when it can be had for £200 somehow doesn't seem quite right but such is the way of things these days.

There are cheaper Blu-ray players and there are ones with better internet portals, but if you don't care about internet content (or you've got this on your TV) and have an older amp, this is the player to buy.

Some of the new 3D modes I can live without – the Frame Width feature is just plain daft and I remain unconvinced about 2D depth conversion – but the revamped user interface is a great improvement. Ultimately, the appeal of this player boils down to its audio visual performance. A modest £260 will get you exceptional image quality and a surprisingly good sounding CD spinner as well.

If you can raise the funds, the DMP-BDT310 will reward you with an avalanche of cutting-edge features, knockout 2D and 3D pictures, and a brilliant operating system

If you’re sold on the idea of 3D and have a fairly sizeable budget, the DMP-BDT310 is one of the best players you can buy. The main attraction is the extensive feature list, which has been enhanced this year by the inclusion of Skype (if you can stretch to the pricey camera), iPhone control and 2D-to-3D conversion – alongside all the other features that made its predecessor such a success. We’re also big fans of the new onscreen menus, the external design and the sumptuous, immersive 3D images.
