Lenovo ThinkPad X220 Pro Reviews

TechRadar UK‘s review Edit

Although the ThinkPad X220 doesn't include an optical drive, you're offered a multitude of connection ports in its place. There are three USB slots, one of which is the newer, faster USB 3.0, an Ethernet port, an SD Card slot, Express Card slot, VGA port and Display port. For a business laptop, this is the gold standard. Everyday users will want to look elsewhere, but the ThinkPad X220 is one of the best choices for the business executive.

reghardware‘s review Edit

Lenovo has consolidated much of the best of two product lines in the X220T. Potential buyers may want to consider the Thinkpad Air-killer, the forthcoming X1, before parting with your cash, but this model's compromises (no user replaceable battery) may not appeal to traditional ThinkPad customers. With Windows 8 offering a revamp that is specifically designed around touch, and with cheap lightweight devices offering sit-back use, it is difficult to see the appeal of this hybrid design. Inside the Lenovo X220T is probably the best business laptop on the market, struggling to get out.

The X220 Tablet is the best convertible we’ve tested to date, hands down. It blows away the competition in terms of performance and has the sturdiest build of any non-ruggedized tablet.

Notebookcheck‘s review Edit

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 may not be perfect, but it is a well-designed laptop with the typical ThinkPad "flair". The notebook offers good mobility and the latest hardware - a combination hard to resist. So we can safely say that the Lenovo ThinkPad X220 is an attractive deal.

TechSpot‘s review Edit

Overall, the system is classic ThinkPad which looks and feels very sturdy. The one glaring flaw is the button-less touchpad, but if you can overlook that or accommodate using the TrackPoint buttons located above the touchpad, I can't see how you can go wrong with the X220 if a powerful ultraportable is what you're after.

PC World‘s review Edit

ThinkPad users won't find anything mind-blowingly different about this latest addition to the X2xx series, but the improvements are noticeable and all enhance the usability of the system. If you're not looking for a supersexy laptop, or if you're trying to get away on the cheap, the Lenovo ThinkPad X220 is the best thing going in an ultraportable.

Is Lenovo's ThinkPad X220T the perfect tablet laptop? Not really, but it's as close as it gets. Sure, it's not cheap, its industrial aesthetic won't appeal to everyone, it lacks USB 3.0 and eSATA, and we would have liked a few more vertical pixels on the screen. However, with the excellent quality of its class-leading IPS display, amazing battery life, superb build quality and ergonomics, high-end specifications and ThinkPad reputation, this is the best convertible tablet laptop currently on the market.

This powerful, lightweight ultraportable is for true road warriors. The top-notch speed and features demand a premium, but it’s still today's best value for a serious business productivity machine.

CNET Reviews‘s review Edit

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 packs in a new Intel Core i5 CPU and can run all day (depending on how you use it). With a 12.5-inch display, it's just a bit smaller than a 13-inch laptop, and it feels like an excellent compromise for frequent travelers.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 is an amazing piece of engineering when you factor in all the features it squeezed into a 12-inch frame, including best-in-class battery life and the new Intel Core i5 i5-2520M CPU.
