At £69.99, the Kodak ESP C310 is a really strong option as any entry level all-in-one printer. It does exactly what you need it to do with minimal fuss, maximum ease and - combined with the wireless printing, decent photo reproduction and relatively cheap cost of ink - it more than makes up for the titchy screen and silliness with the printing strikes that happen unless both cartridges are good to go. You will find better photo printers out there and you’ll also find that even though the ink is cheap, the Kodak paper isn’t quite as aggressively priced, but, at this end of the market, the C310 fits in very nicely indeed.

If you are looking for an all-in-one, with the primary use of being a photo printer, it would probably be better to look elsewhere, but if it is an office printer that requires the use of colour documents, it's unlikely you'll feel let down by the C310. Scanning of colour prints is also a let down, but did a good job of black and white documents. The ability to print from iOS devices is a big positive and 3D image printing is also a good extra.

The Kodak ESP C310 is more than adequate for its intent: low-volume, home use. It is easy to use, and good at printing photos, and—unlike most printers in its class—it's cheap to operate.

The Kodak ESP C310's speed is its biggest downfall. However, it packs in a lot of features (Wi-Fi, for example) for the reasonably modest price tag, and has a very capable scanner built in as well. If you're using this primarily for graphics, and speed isn't crucial (in a home environment, a few extra seconds rarely matter), then you’ll find the output balanced and the running costs exceptional. It’s a good printer.

As with the other members of Kodak's new inkjet range we've reviewed, the strengths of the ESP C310 lie in two of the three most important product areas. This printer produces good quality prints on plain and photo paper and it costs very little to produce them, compared with many rivals. If the company could just get the speed up, it would be three out of three.

The Kodak ESP C310 offers users decent print speeds based on other models in its class, the lowest total ink replacement in its class and good companion software in one easy to use, compact printer. If you need a printer that gets all the basics done well, the ESP C310 could be the right choice for your home. If you want a printer more geared to home office/small workgroup needs or you want to be able to picture perfect photos, the ESP C310 is probably not the best choice out there.
